What is Continuous Glucose Monitoring System (CGMS)?

A continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMS) continuously measures the level of glucose in interstitial fluid and displays trends and patterns in glucose level changes.

It measures the user's glucose in real time and can send alerts before glucose levels fall too low or rise too high. This allows the user to manage their diabetes easily and effectively.

When you wear the CareSens Air CGMS sensor, it sits just under your skin and measures glucose in the interstitial fluid; the fluid that surrounds your body's cells.

The sensor surface contains special enzymes that react with glucose. This reaction produces tiny electrical signals, which are used to calculate your glucose levels.

The transmitter sends these glucose readings to your smartphone, where you can view your levels, trends, and patterns in the CareSens Air app.

Timing Differences

Because glucose takes about 5–10 minutes to move from your bloodstream to the interstitial fluid, readings from a CGMS may slightly differ from finger-prick tests; especially during rapid changes in glucose levels.

How can I see my CGMS glucose readings?

Check your glucose changes through the CareSens Air app on your smart device.

Your CGMS comes with a mobile app that displays glucose measurements and other data. Install the app on your smart device and connect it to your CGMS.

The CGMS will automatically send glucose readings to the app at regular intervals.
